Come and celebrate the amazingly rich heritage of the Yorkshire Wolds at this very special Showcase event. The day is an opportunity to share what we know about the Wolds, one of the most important archaeological landscapes in Britain for its quality and richness.  Equally famed for its peaceful landscapes and unique wildlife, the Yorkshire Wolds is a fantastic place to live, work and visit. Ever wondered what local archaeology, history, metal detecting, geology or even ornithology groups have been discovering about their local landscape? This is a chance to share knowledge about the Yorkshire Wolds and celebrate community-led initiatives to find out more.

This event is being run by The Council for British Archaeology - Yorkshire and The York Archaeological Trust as part of the Food for Thought project. York Archaeological Trust are working with Historic England and other partners to find out how to develop the heritage potential of the Yorkshire Wolds and its unique farming landscape. It is an opportunity for us all to learn about archaeological discoveries made so far and to inspire the curiosity needed to find out more.
