City Walls Experience
Our brand new attraction at Micklegate Bar will explore the history of York's city walls, and the part that this important gateway to the city played in those stories. Open February-October 2024.
We also offer a walking tour around part of the city walls between Micklegate Bar and Baile Hill that leaves from Micklegate Bar, which requires a separate ticket. If you would also like to include this in your visit, please add this to your basket when booking yor visit to The City Walls Experience (select the upgrade tickets) or call the Reservations Team on 01904 615505.
Please note that due to the nature of the building, access at Micklegate Bar is limited as there are steep and narrow wooden staircases. The bar has no running water or toilet facilities.
