This immersive storytelling event takes place around our recreation of Viking-age Coppergate. You can literally smell the decaying flesh as you hear the most gruesome stories of Norse legend, told during a walking-tour of the 10th century. We can promise clement weather inside, but expect chills to run up and down your spine…
Pre-booking is essential, we will not be accepting walk up’s. We also cannot accept any discounts in conjunction with this ticket type.
Visitors should also be aware that the floor of Viking-age Coppergate is quite uneven so we would recommend suitable footwear. A virtual tour is available for those who are unsteady on their feet or wheelchair users. This is displayed on a tablet, and is available on request. Unfortunately, the set was designed to be toured in the suspended Time Capsules and is not wheelchair friendly.
