JVF26 - York Gin - Vodka Tasting

Tuesday 17th February 2026 - 19:00-21:00

Join York Distillery’s spirits experts in the beautiful and historic Barley Hall for a unique, fascinating and delicious spirits tasting experience. Mixing horrible history, delicious drinks, and tasting tips, all the drinks you taste are hand-made right here in York.

You’ll enjoy a welcome cocktail featuring 866 Viking Vodka - the city’s newest spirit, celebrating the year the Vikings settled in York and officially launching at this year’s festival.

You’ll then sample a variety of York Gin’s gold-award-winning and historically-inspired range. These include Roman Fruit, Outlaw Navy Strength (inspired by York’s notorious criminals) and Grey Lady, celebrating York Theatre Royal’s resident ghost!

You’ll also sample Rutterkin Rum - flavoured with chocolate and orange, a nod to the Terry’s Chocolate Orange, invented in York in the 1930s and made in the city for decades.

This ‘History in the Tasting’ experience blends the legends and stories that have shaped this incredible city with expert insight into the delightful flavours created in York’s foremost distillery.

This event is suitable for age 18+
